Golden Ruby Spar
Bashkir Curly
This is our horse, Golden Ruby Spar. He is a Bashkir Curly that we purchased from Sunnybrook Stables in Alberta, Canada back in 2004. He's registered with the American Bashkir Curly Registry. He is the most friendly and lovable horse you'll ever meet. He's a palomino gelding, foaled in March of 1997. In the winter his coat becomes thick and wavy and his mane becomes curly. Depending on the bloodline some curlies shed their mane in the summer and others shed their tails in the summer, then there are some that shed both during the summer. Spar maintains his mane and tail year round as some of the others of his breed.
For those not familiar with the Curly, it is a hypo-allergenic horse for those horse lovers that are allergic to horses. Clyde is allergic to horses, but loved them. After much research he found the Bashkir Curly was a hypo-allergenic breed and from there his search lead him to Sunnybrook Stables where he purchased Spar.
Before moving to our small ranch in East Texas, we boarded Spar at another Curly stables, H Creek Ranch. They have an outstanding group of Curlies, also. Since, boarding Spar there, one of their Curlies is now making movies. His name is Warrior. He is a strong handsome fellow. His owner wanted to know if we would consider putting Spar in the movies, he would be a real character, but we haven't considered it.
